The importance of heat pump data for policy-making and innovation
Add to calendar
Background information
Heat pumps are a key technology in the global transition to secure and sustainable heating. Tracking data on heat pump installations is essential in order to assess market development in different regions so as to provide reliable information to facilitate policy-making and research, and ultimately to support increased heat pump deployment around the world. However, available data on heat pump installations and their techno-economic performance is currently scarce and heterogeneous, with heat pump data being reported in different ways in different regions, making cross-market comparisons difficult.
This workshop is designed to examine how more granular data can improve policy-making, to discuss current heat pump trends and challenges in different markets, and to reflect on which data (beyond data on deployment itself) might be relevant to support heat pump deployment. Participants will include manufacturers, public statistical offices, heat pump associations and researchers.
