IEA at COP26: Important considerations and capacity building needs to implement the Article 6.4 mechanism

Background information
This side event will highlight recent analyses on implications of options for a possible transition to the Article 6.4 mechanism of eligible activities registered under the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM); quantitative implications of options for Overall Mitigation of Global Emissions (OMGE) and Share of Proceeds (SOP); and capacity building support for Article 6.4 implementation. Presentations will be delivered by experts of the OECD/IEA Climate Change Expert Group, Climate Analytics, NewClimate Insitute, Öko Institut, UNEP DTU Partnership and the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI).
