AI Agent – Terms

The responses (Responses) from any generative AI agent accompanying an IEA publication or report (AI Agent) are generated by artificial intelligence based on specific IEA content. As such, the Responses may not always be accurate or reflect the views of the IEA or its individual Member countries. In particular, the Responses do not constitute professional advice on any specific issue or situation. The IEA makes no representation or warranty, express or implied, in respect of the Responses and shall not be responsible for any use of, or reliance on, them. Please verify information in any Responses independently. For more information about applicable licence rights, and restrictions on using the Responses, please refer to the “Licence” section below. 

Licence: In using the AI Agent, you agree to the following: (a) the relevant publication/report’s content, including textual content and data that feeds into the AI Agent, remains owned by the OECD/IEA, (b) whilst the IEA does not retain or claim any rights in your queries or prompts to the AI Agent (Queries), the IEA is entitled to use them, and any feedback you provide to us, for any purpose, including to improve, develop and maintain the AI Agent; (c) your Responses shall be owned by the OECD/IEA, however the OECD/IEA licenses to you (i) textual information within your Responses under a CC BY 4.0 licence in accordance with the IEA’s Notice for CC-licensed Content, and (ii) any datapoints within your Responses subject to the IEA’s Terms of Use for Non-CC Material. Specifically for the WEO GPT AI Agent, you agree not to use the AI Agent to automatically or programmatically extract data, or to extract data for subsequent use in any type of modelling towards creation of derived data or derived products, and any services to distribute or display such derived products (for example, to create metrics, alignment pathways, decarbonisation pathways and/or temperature scores at sector and/or company level to calculate and/or assess the climate compliance of investment portfolios and investment assets). Please contact compliance@iea.org if you intend to use data within the Responses for such purposes.

Privacy: Please refer to our Privacy Policy for information regarding processing of personal data via the AI Agent.

General: Please also refer to our Terms. Any third-party products included in the AI Agent are subject to their own terms and the IEA is not responsible for them in any way. Similarly, you alone are responsible for your Queries; you confirm that your Queries comply with any applicable laws and that you have all rights, licenses and permissions to provide them to the AI Agent, and also to grant the licence to the IEA in your Queries as set out above in the Licence section.  You also acknowledge that the AI Agent is not intended for undertaking analysis or making decisions about individuals, and you agree not to include any personal data or personally identifiable information in your Queries or use the AI Agent for such purposes.
