Important message for WDS users

The IEA has discontinued providing data in the Beyond 2020 format (IVT files and through WDS). Data is now available through the .Stat Data Explorer, which also allows users to export data in Excel and CSV formats.

Minimum Energy Performance Standards and Labelling for Air Conditioners with Cooling Capacity = 7.1kW

Source: International Energy Agency
Last updated: 17 October 2019

TESTING STANDARD

ISO 16358-1:2013

MS ISO 5151:2012

RATING AND TESTING CONDITION

CSPF for non-inverter type is calculated by multiplying EER tested at standard temperature condition by 1.062

    CSPF = 1.062 x Tested EER

CSPF for inverter-type, the 50% load cooling capacity test will be used with the following tolerance

    50% load = 100 % load capacity x 0.5 (tolerance ± 5.0 %), where 100% load capacity refers to measured cooling capacity during 100% load cooling capacity.

Testing conditions will be based on:

     - climactic ambient T1, refer to MS ISO 5151

     - Voltage 230V, 50Hz

STAR LABELLING (in CSPF, Wh/Wh)

The rated cooling capacity < 4.5kW

5-star: =5.30

4-star: 4.60 =CSPF<5.30

3-star: 3.30 = CSPF<4.60

2-star: 3.10 = CSPF<3.30

1-star: <3.10

4.5kW =Rated Cooling Capacity = 7.1kW

5-star:  = 5.10

4-star:  4.00= CSPF<5.10

3-star:  3.10= CSPF<4.00

2-star:  2.90 = CSPF<3.10

1-star:  <2.90

MINIMUM ENERGY PERFORMANCE STANDARDS (MEPS)

MEPS requirement is 2-stars, hence 3.10 Wh/Wh (for less than 4.5 kW) and 2.90 Wh/Wh (for less than 7.1kW)
