Important message for WDS users

The IEA has discontinued providing data in the Beyond 2020 format (IVT files and through WDS). Data is now available through the .Stat Data Explorer, which also allows users to export data in Excel and CSV formats.

Law No. 14/011 (Electricity Sector)

The law has established the National Electrification Agency (AGENA) and National Electrification Fund (FONEL) to increase access to energy in rural areas and secondary cities. The law indicates that renewable energy based systems for rural areas are suited for use in remote population centres far from the grid.
