The IEA has discontinued providing data in the Beyond 2020 format (IVT files and through WDS). Data is now available through the .Stat Data Explorer, which also allows users to export data in Excel and CSV formats.

Purchasing Scheme for Solar PV Electricity

In November 2009, Excess Electricity Purchasing Scheme for Solar PV Electricity was started. Under this scheme, electric utilities should purchase excess electricity produced from solar PV system at a fixed price. The purchase price for residential PV facilities was 48 yen/kWh and that for non-residential was 24 yen/kWh. Purchase period is 10 years. And the cost for this scheme will be covered by a monthly surcharge collected from electricity users.
