The Irish Wind Energy Associations comprehensive new guidelines on best practice for on-shore wind projects in Ireland were launched on 7 May 2008. The Guidelines are meant to spur the development of the wind industry, and support what IWEA says will be private investment of between EUR 4 billion and EUR 6 billion in wind power over the next ten years. The Best Practice Guidelines for the Irish Wind Energy Industry had been produced by the Irish Wind Energy Association, with support from Sustainable Energy Ireland, which partly funded the Guidelines development through its Renewable Energy Research Development and Demonstration programme.
