The IEA has discontinued providing data in the Beyond 2020 format (IVT files and through WDS). Data is now available through the .Stat Data Explorer, which also allows users to export data in Excel and CSV formats.

Project for Geothermal Power Generation Development

This project promotes the development of geothermal power generation, which requires large capital investments and a long lead time from the start of development to the operational stage. Prior to 1999, METI was responsible for subsidising activities for developing geothermal power generation by electric power operators, developers, industry bureaus, or entities who install in-house power generating plants. Operational activities were transferred to NEDO in 1999.
