The IEA has discontinued providing data in the Beyond 2020 format (IVT files and through WDS). Data is now available through the .Stat Data Explorer, which also allows users to export data in Excel and CSV formats.

Global System of Trade Preferences (GSTP) among Developing Countries

The Global System of Trade Preferences (GSTP) among Developing Countries establishes tariff concessions among its 42 Parties. It establishes preferential tariffs for energy products, including: 

  • Electric motor parts;
  • Air conditioning appliances; 
  • Cathodes and cathode sections; 
  • Refined copper and copper alloys; 
  • Cobalt mattes and other intermediate products of cobalt's metallurgy;
  • Ferrous waste and scrap; 


Rule of origins apply to qualify for the preferential tariff treatment, notably establishing that:

  • products should be wholly produced or obtained in the exporting participant to the GSTP;
  • products should not incorporate non-originating materials valued above 50% of the Free on Board (FOB) value of the final product
