Important message for WDS users

The IEA has discontinued providing data in the Beyond 2020 format (IVT files and through WDS). Data is now available through the .Stat Data Explorer, which also allows users to export data in Excel and CSV formats.

Free Trade Agreement between Switzerland and the European Union

The free trade agreement between Switzerland and the European Union entered into force on 1 January 1973. 

It provides for border tariff elimination for most industrial products, including : 

  • Electric motors, turbines and generators; 
  • Mechanical equipment including pumps, appliances, and other advanced machinery; 
  • Electric accumulators, transformers, capacitors, batteries; 
  • Motor vehicles; 
  • Mineral ore, slag and ash; 
  • Mineral fuels, oils and other products; 
  • Metals and their articles e.g. iron and steel; 
  • Semiconductors devices and photovoltaic cells; 

Rules of origin stipulate products only undergoing minimal transformations in one of the signatory countries should not benefit from the tariff treatment established by the Agreement.
