Important message for WDS users

The IEA has discontinued providing data in the Beyond 2020 format (IVT files and through WDS). Data is now available through the .Stat Data Explorer, which also allows users to export data in Excel and CSV formats.

National Bioenergy Programme

The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy of India (MNRE) launched its National Bioenergy Programme in 2022, and extended it until 2025-26 through two phases. The programme has the following sub-schemes:

  • Waste to Energy Programme supporting the installation of large biogas-, bioCNG- and power- plants, 
  • Biomass Programme for the use of pellets and briquettes in power generation, and
  • Biogas Programme supporting installation of family and medium size biogas installations in rural areas.
