Regulation No. 638/2022 on energy-intensive processing industries

In December 2022, the Latvian government granted over EUR 23.5 million in support to energy-intensive manufacturing companies to compensate increased costs of natural gas and electricity incurred between February 1, 2022 and December 31, 2022. 
The support was paid as a direct grant covering up to 30% of eligible natural gas and electricity costs in the maximum amount of EUR 2 million. Eligible beneficiaries had to prove that their energy costs made up at least 3% of their operating costs and had electricity / gas consumption over 500 MWh in 2021.
