Important message for WDS users

The IEA has discontinued providing data in the Beyond 2020 format (IVT files and through WDS). Data is now available through the .Stat Data Explorer, which also allows users to export data in Excel and CSV formats.

Nationwide price cap on electricity and gas prices for one year, starting 1 April 2022.

Nationwide package of measures to reduce the pressure of the energy and natural gas bills, for one year as of 1st April 2022.

  • Electricity price cap: For consumption of up to 100 kWh per month, households pay RON 0.68/kWh, and for a consumption comprised between 100 and 300 kWh they pay RON 0.8/kWh.
  • Gas price cap: For households, price capped at RON 0.31/kWh. 


This does not apply to energy intensive companies, which have dedicated state aid packages. Instead, these fix electricity prices at RON 1/kWh, VAT included, and RON 0.37/kWh for gas, VAT included.
