The IEA has discontinued providing data in the Beyond 2020 format (IVT files and through WDS). Data is now available through the .Stat Data Explorer, which also allows users to export data in Excel and CSV formats.

Fuel tax credits are provided for rail transport to improve its competitive position. The current fuel tax credit rate for various rail transportation activities is AUD 38.143 cents per litre. The credit also applies to use of rail vehicles for rail transport connected activities, such as maintenance or repair, as well as for using equipment in or on the rail vehicle that is incidental to using the rail vehicle, such as air conditioning, heating or lighting.
