Notice on Matters Concerning the New Energy Feed-in Tariff Policy

Source: International Energy Agency
Last updated: 18 August 2021

On 11 June, the NDRC released a new notice guiding the price for feed in tariffs. The new regulations stipulate:

    • on-grid electricity price for new projects in 2021 will be implemented according to the local coal-fired power generation benchmark price;
    • Newly built projects can voluntarily participate in market-oriented transactions to form feed-in tariffs to better reflect the green power value of photovoltaic power and wind power generation.

Starting from 2021, on-grid tariffs for newly approved (registered) offshore wind power projects and solar thermal power generation projects will be set by the local provincial-level pricing authorities.
