State Energy Program
Program goals include:
increasing the energy efficiency of the U.S. economy;
reducing energy costs;
improving the reliability of electricity, fuel, and energy services delivery;
developing alternative and renewable energy resources;
promoting economic growth with improved environmental quality; and
reducing reliance on imported oil.
The SEP was established in 1996, consolidating the State Energy Conservation Program and the Institutional Conservation Program established by the 1975 Energy Policy Act.
