Biofuels Research to Reduce Transportation Emissions

Last updated: 13 October 2021

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) announced USD 61.4 million of funding for the production of low-cost, low-carbon biofuels that will power heavy-duty vehicles  currently hard to electrify.

The "Bioenergy Technologies Office Scale-Up and Conversion” funding opportunity includes high-impact biotechnology research, development, and demonstration (RD&D) to bolster the body of scientific and engineering knowledge needed to produce low-carbon biofuels at lower cost.

Full applications are due on June 21, 2021.
