National Budget 2021 - Support for effective use of sewage resources

To promote the effective use of sewage resources and contribute to carbon neutrality, the Japanese government has decided to improve facilities for sewage sludge-to-energy conversion and facilities related to wide area and communalization for wastewater resources consolidation.

 

 As a part of the third supplementary budget to the 2021 national budget, Japan's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism has allocated JPY 5 billion to this project.
