The IEA has discontinued providing data in the Beyond 2020 format (IVT files and through WDS). Data is now available through the .Stat Data Explorer, which also allows users to export data in Excel and CSV formats.

Renewable Electricity Support Scheme (RESS)

The Renewable Electricity Support Scheme (RESS) replaced the Renewable Energy Feed in Tariff (REFIT) in 2020. The RESS provides support for renewable electricity projects in Ireland, with a focus on cost effectiveness. It includes provisions for:

 

- supports for communities to participate in renewable energy projects

- increasing technology diversity by broadening the renewable electricity technology mix

- delivering an ambitious renewable electricity policy to 2030

- increasing energy security, energy sustainability and ensuring the cost effectiveness of energy policy

 

The RESS aims to shift guaranteed fixed prices for renewable generators (feed-in tariffs) to a more market liberalized mechanism (i.e. through the implementation of renewable auctions), where the cost will be determined by competitive bidding between renewable generators.
