The IEA has discontinued providing data in the Beyond 2020 format (IVT files and through WDS). Data is now available through the .Stat Data Explorer, which also allows users to export data in Excel and CSV formats.

The rate of vehicle tax for cars is based on engine size if registered before 2001, or on fuel type and carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions if registered after 2001. This is intended to send a stronger signal to the buyer about the environmental implications of their car purchase.
