The IEA has discontinued providing data in the Beyond 2020 format (IVT files and through WDS). Data is now available through the .Stat Data Explorer, which also allows users to export data in Excel and CSV formats.

Notes

Patent counts refer to the number of granted international patent families that include at least two geographical offices. Counts are allocated to countries based on the country of the inventor. EVs = electric vehicles. For EV batteries, the counts refer to patent applications to the World Intellectual Property Organization. Metal processing refers to the manufacture of bulk metals and its processing to semi-finished and finished metallic products.
